Privacy policy
Feynman School exists to help you learn. We collect what we need to build your quests and track your progress, and nothing more. We don’t run ads and we don’t sell your data.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with Google, we receive an identifier for your Google account through our sign-in provider. Google may also share your name and email address.
- Your profile. What you tell us at onboarding or in Settings: a name to call you, an age range, whether you’re a student or working and your field, topics you’re interested in, your goals, and how you like to learn. It shapes your quests’ examples and depth. You can change or clear it at any time.
- Your learning. The questions you ask, your quests, your predictions, observations, answers and transfer responses, how you use the labs, and the evidence we derive from them, such as which checks you got right first time.
- Code you run. Code you submit in a coding activity, and its results.
- Technical data. Basic server logs, such as request times and errors, to keep the service working and secure.
The public labs on this site work without an account, and what you do in them stays in your browser.
How we use it
- To generate and adapt your quests, labs, hints and feedback.
- To grade checks, show your progress and schedule reviews.
- To run, secure and improve the service, for example by investigating errors.
Who processes it
- Amazon Web Services hosts the service and stores your data in Sydney, Australia, and runs our sign-in (Amazon Cognito).
- Google handles signing in with your Google account.
- OpenAI generates quest content. Text you write, such as your questions, predictions and messages to the mentor, is sent to OpenAI for this purpose.
Code you submit runs on an isolated code runner that we operate on AWS. It is not sent to a third party.
Cookies and local storage
We store your sign-in session, your light or dark theme preference, and unsaved drafts in your browser. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your learning data while your account is active, so you can return to your quests and reviews. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your quests and learning evidence. Some logs are kept briefly for security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@feynman.school. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law.
Children
Feynman School isn’t intended for children under 13. Learners under the age of digital consent where they live should use it with a parent or guardian’s permission.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we’ll tell you in the app.
